Paul Debevec
Chief Research Officer, Eyeline Studios

Biography:
Paul Debevec received degrees in Computer Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996. He is the Chief Research Officer at Netflix’s Eyeline Studios, an Adjunct Research Professor at the University of Southern California, and a Governor of the Visual Effects Branch of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences as well as a co-chair of the Academy's Sci-Tech Council. Paul's work in technology for visual effects and virtual production has been recognized with two Academy Awards for Scientific and Technical Achievement, the Progress Medal from the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, and in 2022, the Charles F. Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award.

Prof. Yi-Zhe Song
Co-Director, Surrey's People-Centred AI Institute

Biography:
Yi-Zhe Song is a Professor of Computer Vision and Machine Learning at the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP). He leads the SketchX Lab, focusing on understanding human visual systems through sketch data. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE TPAMI and Frontiers in Computer Science – Computer Vision, and has served as Area Chair for major conferences like ECCV, CVPR, and ICCV. SketchX consistently publishes in top-tier conferences and journals, including winning a Best Paper Award at BMVC 2015. Prof. Song founded and leads the MSc in AI programme at Surrey and previously established a similar programme at Queen Mary University of London. He holds a PhD from the University of Bath, an MSc from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor's Degree from Bath. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the EPSRC review college.
